SharpKeys is not responsible for any of the keyboard remapping functionality - it simply exposes a Registry key that controls how Windows remaps keys and has been available to us since Windows 2000. The more I started working with other keyboard, the more I wanted to have this ability to map other keys across my keyboard, but working with the Hex numbers and having too look up scan codes could be painful. For me, this meant that I told my computer to treat Caps Lock as if it was a shift key, which it now does.
There's a little used registry hack that allows you to remap keys across a keyboard. What's a keyboard mapping? How many times a day do you accidentally hit cAPS lOCK BY MISTAKE AND END UP HAVING TO GO BAck and retype stuff? For me it was at least once an hour - in fact, I used to pop off the Caps Lock key so I wouldn't hit it anymore, but I found something better in Windows XP, as well as 2000, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. This is something that I've thrown together to help people out with their keyboard mappings. Included in the application is a list of common keyboard keys and a Type Key feature to automatically recognize most keyboard keys. I will be replacing this key safe regardless of its current working condition with another brand, more likely a mechanical lock also.SharpKeys is a utility that manages a Registry key that allows Windows to remap one key to any other key. To summarise, I don't have confidence in this key safe, I work for an NHS ambulance service in the UK and I DO NOT recommend this key safe, Master Locks support is shocking. So now I'm thinking that this unit is faulty because it's just throwing random problems - not being able to open it for a day and a half, cannot get the door closed after being opened, now it won't lock at all!.

This time, the key safe sprang into action and opened - I was gob smacked!! I take the key out and close the door to the key safe, I re-enter the code and it opened!!, I go to close the key safe door, but I cannot, the door won't close, so I re-enter the code and the light goes green, but I cannot close the door and there was no 'click' noise, after several attempts, I managed to get the door to close, but now it won't lock and you can just pull it open, I re-enter the code and no 'click', you can still open the door.
Their phone system states they are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, however their phone system does not allow you to leave a message until 9:10am A day and a half goes by after the initial call from the care staff not being able to get the key out, at this point I've tried opening the key safe 15 to 20 times with no success, I was about to take a hammer to the key safe to obtain the key and replace it with a different brand, but my other half insisted I tried again, so I did. I tried to contact Master Lock to obtain some support - well I can tell you after a week I've had no email response from Master Lock and when you call the UK number, you can only speak to an answering machine. At this point, I started to become concerned, of course we have spare keys, but no other mechanism to externally store them securely on my fathers property. Even with the 9V battery attached, NO CLICK, door wont open. What was actually happening was - Code was entered, light goes green, NO CLICK, door won't open. Normally, you enter your code, the circular button turns green, there's a 'click' noise which indicates the mechanism has unlocked and you can pull the door open. But when I arrived, the battery was not low, and the 9V battery I had to jump start the key safe made no difference, the key safe just did not want to open. Naturally, I thought the battery might be low so I head round with a 9V battery to place on the emergency terminals at the bottom of the key safe and open it with my primary code, and a new battery to replace the old one within the unit. However a couple of weeks ago (14th Aug 23), I received a phone call from the care staff, they could not gain access, the key safe was not opening. After installation, everything worked as intended, all the different services had their own number and all was good. We purchased this key safe for the sole purpose of storing a key which would allow care staff, emergency services, community nurses access to my fathers property - he has very poor mobility and it's not always possible for him to get to the door.

The key safe was easy to install but somewhat a little tricky when trying to connect up to the phone app, eventually after many tires, we managed it and got the key safe working as intended.
